The White Hart

We stayed here for 2 nights and were pleasantly surprised by the size of the room, the furniture in the room and, most importantly, the cleanliness of the room and the whole place. The cleaners are too be commended as they do such a good job and have a lovely, helpful attitude, I was very impressed. We liked that the accommodation was in a separate building to the pub which meant less likelihood of being disturbed, not it was only a short walk across the car park to the back entrance where you could access all areas of the pub. We had breakfast which was good, a buffet which was good and an evening meal which was good. All the staff were friendly and helpful, we stayed quite late in the bar one night and there were no complaints. Very, very pleased, highly recommended and will go there again should we visit Swindon.

Went today 13.10.24 for the carvery, welcome was not very "warm" very matter of fact, no personal touch, drinks order was taken the as soon as we got there, the restaurant only had 1 couple in at this time, we went to the carvery and were already eating the when the drinks arrived, FOOD - The meat was cooked very well, moist and tasty, chef was pleasant and friendly, the mash is probably the best i have had away from home, roast potatoes could have done with a little longer to crisp up. Carrots and white cabbage was completely bland and flavorless even with salt added, cauliflower / broccoli cheese was magnificent, peas are peas, red cabbage was nice once cranberry added, gravy was watery and thin RETURNING - I would return for the good parts and avoid the bad, not much required to make exceptional

This review is for the hire of the function room and how amazing the team are at the white hart. My partner and I wanted a small/simple wedding reception and came across the function room at the white hart around a year ago. I’m so glad we decided to hold it here as Lucy has been nothing but helpful the whole way through. On the day of the wedding, Lucy and the team she had helping were just incredible. Nothing was too much and they were always there when we needed something. They were so polite and professional and just made the day wonderful for us. We cannot thank them enough! And to top it off, the food is amazing! If you’re wondering of hiring the function room for an event please do. You won’t regret it. Again, thank you so much for everything!

We arrived earlier than the 3pm check in time and staff were happy to store our luggage until we could check in. The room was a great size, clean and modern. I was so happy to see a king size bed rather than a queen. The food was delicious both at dinner and at breakfast. The service was great staff more than happy to help. I highly recommend.

We chose the White Hart for my mum's wake. We had the small function room with a lunch buffet. Lucy was very helpful and the team were so nice. The food was lovely and we were well looked after. Thank you very much for making the afternoon run smoothly.

We love this place. Staff are always friendly and attentive. Nice to sit n chat, have a few beers and chill. It can get busy . Food is good. Book a table in advance.

Came in on a Sunday, there was only the Buffet Carvery roast on offer, but that was what we came in for. We hadn’t booked a table, but were lucky to get a table, but we were early in the evening, at 5pm. I would recommend booking a table if you are planning ahead As I cook myself, I did find their prices expensive, as you only get a small bit of meat, the rest vegetables! But that is the way prices are going. I would come back here, so a good recommendation.

Gorgeous spacious pub with lovely decor, friendly staff and feels plush, even the loos! Enjoyed good sized nice coffees, catered well for vegans with biscoff biscuits on the side and oat milk. Close to M4 near Swindon so convenient stop off for a break rather than motorway services and plenty of parking. Great menu too

Stayed 08/11/2024 to 09/11/2024. Rooms are lovely, spacious, clean with large walk in showers. Cleaning staff were even scrubbing communal the walls which I have never seen in a hotel before. Breakfast and evening meals were delicious with good sized servings. All members of staff, and there are alot (bar, restaurant, kitchen, and cleaning staff) were very helpful, polite and friendly. We will definitely stay again. I forgot to take a photo of breakfast which was very well presented. I had canun chicken burger in the evening. Only thing I would say is they could do with some vegetarian dishes on thier menu as two people.in our group struggled with the menu and they wont go again.

I've been here various times over the years! It's a standard Arkels pub. Normally, good standard pub grub! Arkells normally don't scrimp on the portion, but it can be hit and miss depending on if they can be bothered. I visited twice in two days due to a training course and had the same said twice! It was very nice both days! Waitress was a bit abrupt but pretty standard for arkels, to be honest.
